Playworks Early Days Nursery works in conjunction with Caerphilly Early Years Department to provide Assisted and Supported Places, the 30 Hour Free Childcare Offer for Wales and Flying Start Scheme.
Assisted Places
Every child has the right to flourish and develop to their full potential. Caerphilly Early Years has developed a new Assisted Places Scheme for children with emerging needs. The purpose of the scheme is to provides funding through the Families First Grant for pre-school children with additional needs and disabilities to help access community based play settings, in particular the play and learning environments, where the parent would be unable to fund the sessions themselves.
This time-limited support is only available for pre-school children living in non-Flying Start areas. Children identified with emerging needs, developmental delays or identified disabilities will be considered by the scheme.
Suported Places
The Supported Places Scheme provides funding through Families First Grant for pre-school children with additional needs, disabilities and emerging needs. This allows them to access a community based play setting, in particular the play and learning environment, where it has been identified that they would be unable to do this without additional support.
This time limited additional support is available for pre-school children living in non-Flying Start areas. Children identified with emerging needs, developmental delays or identified disabilities will be considered by the scheme.

Free Childcare Offer for Wales
We are a provider of The Childcare Offer for Wales for 3 – 4 year olds. This scheme offers up to 30 hours of free early education and childcare in Wales a week, for up to 48 weeks of the year. Flying Start
Flying Start is a Welsh Government funded Programme and is available in targeted areas supporting all families to give 0-3 year olds a Flying Start in life.
The scheme aims to provide intensive support services for children aged 0-3 years old and their families. The focus of the programme is on promoting language, cognitive, social and emotional skills, physical development and the early identification of high needs. Playworks Early Days Nursery provides the childcare element for children aged 2-years.
If you live in a Flying Start area your child is entitled to a funded quality childcare place for 2 and a half hours per day, 5 days a week for 39 weeks from the term following their second birthday to the term in which they celebrate their third birthday. For more information click here.
