The Toddler Room

The Toddler Room is a place for your child to enjoy free play group story time, singing, music and movement sessions along with child lead activities which promote childrens learning through play.  Structured activities are planned that encourage social skills and satisfying their inquisitive minds.

The Todder Room staff under the direction of the Room Leader Kate, support the children to ensure that their individual needs are met and that the children have someone to talk to and listen to them at their own level.

Everyday is a new experience…. Sand, water, painting, building, puzzles, baking and the home corner are just a few of the activities that your child will enjoy.

All these activities will assist your child to develop to the best of his or her ability.

Our Flying Start Provision  based in the Toddler Room provides opportunities for learning through play for children aged 2-3 years, and runs Monday – Friday during term time, 9.00 am – 11.30 am.

Flying Start is a scheme funded by The Wesh Assembly Government. If you live in a Flying Start area your child is entitled to a funded quality childcare place for 2 and a half hours per day, 5 days a week for 39 weeks from the term following their second birthday to the term in which they celebrate their third birthday. For more information about the Flying Start Scheme or to check your eligability click here.

A ratio of 1 member of staff to every 4 children aged 2-3 years is observed at all times.

Home/Nursery Links

We request that parents/carers provide their child with a diary/notebook each time they attend nursery.

Your childs Keyworker will complete the diary daily and include information about mealtimes, sleep times and activities your child has taken part in along with any details about their day. The diary system is not designed to replace daily chit chat between parents and nursery staff, but to build links between home and nursey and to help pass on messages.

Another way we share information between home and nursery is through our SeeSaw App.  Each child has an online SeeSaw account, where staff members post pictures and videos of your childs day, along with individual messages to parents/carers. Parents/carers can make the choice to share this account with other family members who can also view what is being posted by the nursery staff.

Playworks Early Days Nursery has a Facebook page where we regularly post about future events and share other important information.

Newsletters are produced throughout the year and are shared with parents/carers via your childs SeeSaw account. Papercopies of the newsletters are also availabe in the Reception area of the nursery.
